Another great 2 cd set from Smith. This one concentrates on the British skiffle explosion, from its roots in the late 40's to the pinnacle of its success in the mid 50's. The skiffle explosion mirrored that of the Rockabilly explosion in the States at the same time. It too concentrated on simple instrumentation and straightforward delivery. The importance of skiffle for the British music scene was immense and, as much as Elvis, was the reason many a budding star picked up a guitar fot the first time.
