New album from Scotlands hardest Rockin combo and what a treat you're in for.
The first track is worth the price of the cd on its own - from the opening chugging guitar to the classic refrain 'bang, bang, bang, bang, she's gone.......' it's a real blues-bopper-inspired beast of a tune and deserves to played across the continents by all self respecting Dj types........
The album is made up of a variety of Rockin styles from the pure stripped down Rockabilly and country side of things on 'My gal Lillie', to the excellent 'I gotta gun' and then onto the more polished Rock n Roll sound of tracks like 'I never felt like this'.
The mixture of styles is a good move. Often bands will simply plough the same furrow for a whole cd - it'll be a good furrow, but the same one nonetheless. But the Hi Voltage lads are talented enough and drink enough to be able to flex their muscles in several different genres and still make it work really well over the cd.
Great cd - give it a spin.
